Chris M completed his apprenticeship with Westrans Services at the begging of the year and now Luke following along this month. We have had the privilege to watch these lads learn, grow and mature throughout this time.

What does this mean?
We can:
– Inspect vehicles and trailers over AND under 4.5 tonnes.
– Carry out unregistered vehicle and/or trailer re-registration inspections.
– Remove Defect Notices, Work Orders and Yellow Stickers.
– Carry out annual mandatory examinations
– Dangerous Goods Inspections.
– Omnibus/Buses
– School Bus Inspections

– Inspect a vehicle and/or trailer for Eastern States Transfer /Registration Renewals.
– Reassessments and information changes.

– LPG Conversions etc.
– VSB6 Modification Inspection.

We are unable to:
Inspect Motorbikes, Scooters, Tricycles and Mopeds.
– Issue new registration plates or registration fees.
– Carry out onsite Inspections
– Accept pre-purchased Inspections from the D.O.T. website.

Westrans Services are a Department of Transport Authorised Inspection Station (AIS) and can provide your business fast, convenient and reliable Light and Heavy vehicle and trailer inspection. With two Authorised Inspection Examiners (AIE) carrying out inspections throughout the week, we endeavour to assist you to get back on the road as soon as possible.

This year the event hosted over 140 exhibitors and more than 8,500 people visited the show over the three days. A number of Westrans Services staff members attended the show over the three days supporting D’Angelo Products.

Being positioned in the heart of the show gave the Westrans staff members the opportunity to rub shoulders with a number of industry professionals.

On behalf of Westrans Services I would like to thank everyone who came out and visited the Westrans Services and D’Angelo display during the show. Also a special thank you to Sam, Dan, Joe, Giulio, Orlando and Steph who made the event such a success!

Chris completed his apprenticeship with Westrans Services last year and we have had the privilege to watch him grow and mature (some what) throughout that time.
During his time at Westrans Chris has accomplished may things and has always taken every opportunity he has been given with both hands,
especially during his time competing in the National Worldskills Competitions last year .

Throughout the evening the Murray demonstrated how to:

–        Service and maintain brake callipers.
–        Correctly maintain BPW bearings and axles.
–        Strip and rebuild callipers by BPW and Knorr Bremse.

 On behalf of all of the Westrans workshop staff we would like to once again thank Aaron and Murray from BPW  for organising such a successful and informative evening.

Throughout the evening there were plenty of laughs and a great time had for all the Westrans staff members on and off the track.

This year we had a change of faces on the winner’s podium seeing Chris take out first placed followed by Damien in second and Daniel in third.

Over the past couple weeks Westrans Services workshop staff have had a rare opportunity to work on a “Golden Oldie” 1979 Double Decker Leyland Bus.

The client requires Westrans to remove the old engine and replace it with another.
Overall the job is quite complex and will require many different modifications and alterations to carry out successfully.

Having a vehicle in the workshop of this vintage gives the staff members and apprentices the chance to learn and work on different era of technology.

What a fantastic opportunity for all our staff members!!
